Homework

At Flint High school we see homework as a very valuable tool that will help your child to learn more independently.  

As a school, our homework aims are: 

• Support pupils to become ambitious, independent and capable learners. 
• Enable pupils to be knowledgeable and reflective through consolidating and reinforcing their skills and understanding outside of the classroom. 
• Encourage pupils to be enquirers, providing students with opportunities for pre-learning, pre-reading and research prior to experiencing topic content in the lesson. 
• Build a positive partnership between home and school and enabling parents to be involved in their child's education. 
• Inspiring a culture of excellence.  

Below is a copy of the new homework timetable that your child will be following. On average your child should be spending at least an hour every night on their homework. You can help by: 

• Setting up a routine of when and where homework can be done. 
• Checking your child’s timetable to see what they’ve got. 
• Talking through what your child needs to do and looking over the work once they’ve finished, remember that it is their homework.
